During a gas safety check, we’ll perform a comprehensive inspection of all gas appliances and flues. We will: 

• Examine all your gas appliances, pipework and flues for any signs of damage, wear and tear, or incorrect installation. 

• Perform a gas tightness test, checking for any leaks in the pipework using a special tool. 

• Turn on your appliances and assess if they are burning gas correctly and efficiently. 

• Check there’s adequate ventilation to remove fumes and a good air supply for the appliances to function properly. 

• Test all the safety devices on your appliances, like the flame failure device and thermostat, to make sure they are working correctly. 

If we find any issues during the check, we’ll report them to you and recommend repairs or further action. We can then return on a later date to carry out the needed repairs and get your system back in top working condition. 

If we identify a fault that compromises safety, we’ll issue a warning notice preventing the appliance’s use. We can also fix the issue ourselves, urgently if needed, to restore peace of mind. 

Yes. Upon successful completion, we’ll provide you with a Gas Safety Certificate (CP12) that’s valid for one year. You’re legally required to provide a copy to your tenants within 28 days.
